Hi everyone. I am on the look out for bottles from Illinois. This year has gotten off with a bang and I am hoping someone on here can keep it going. If anyone has any Illinois bottle besides the common Furst McNess from Freeport or a Dr. Caldwells please let me know! Below I will post what I am looking for but I will look at anything that you have! Also looking for demijohns. image.jpg u.jpg n.jpg image..jpg imagek.jpg p.jpg h.jpg

I have one but NO idea what it is worth. Maybe you can enlighten me? Clear Hutchinson, with stopper, J N MULVIHILL 127 N GREEN ST CHICAGO. Found in a lake outside Detroit.

BTW, I never clean my bottles. Don't really know how and I don't want to hurt them.

Hi ya. What you have there is one of the hundreds of hutches from Chicago. Unfortunately yours is quite common and in that condition probably worth around $10. Unless it is a rare variant or something which is doubtful. You can see your bottle on Hutchbook if you visit that site. Thank you very much for your post. It is greatly appreciated! Please let me know if you ever encounter anymore bottles from Illinois. Thank you!

Thanks for the info. I find Hutches all the time. I have them from Indiana also and Michigan. I will let you know if I find any more from Illinois. My rarest bottle is from Detroit 1852 to be exact. I found the 4th one known in existence. Love your display!!

Hi Bottleworm, I think I pm'd you about the So. Chicago Bottling Works hutch I have that was recently listed on hutchbook. Still available if you've changed your mind, but otherwise I don't have anything else for you.

I have a demijohn for you. It has an embossed cartouche that says "1987" (liters) indicating contents of five gallons. I bought it in wicker, but it turned out to be a duplicate of another of my bottles. This is a big bottle, easily the centerpiece of a demijohn collection. PM me for details or send email to pristis at AOL dot COM.

Also yes I remember you showing me the hutch you have. I will still pass but thank you for your post. And that Rock Island beer is the same one I have in my picture. In the condition yours is in I would say around $40 for yours. And those pictures are only a small portion of my collection. Thank you guys for your posts.

There you have a pretty common eastern Illinois patent medicine. These do not bring very much but if you have one that is mint they do ok. Also a labeled one would do really good if you had one. Worth around $10 I would say. Do you have anything else from Illinois?

It is a common Chicago bottle. Depending on the size and color and style of it. There are some rarer variants of this bottle. Which one is yours?

Huh I have never seen that one before. Looks to be about 1890's. That is a new one for me. Let me do some research on it.
