Looking for MDer who can give some advice on Portland area

Hi....I'm traveling to Portland Oregon during the first week of August and want to take my detector and poke around a bit. I'll understand if no one wants to share, but I'm not familiar with the area and was wondering if anyone from around there might be willing to share some areas that I could detect. Also wondering if there are any regulations that I should be aware of. I belong to the Sonoma County Coin Poppers....perhaps there is a club in the area that I could contact?
I'd be grateful for any information.
