A while back, someone posted a link to a site where one could locate old towns by State. I must have wiped it out of my favorites. Can anyone help with the website? Thanks.
Thanks for the responses, but unfortunately, these aren't the sites. The site I'm referring to allowed you to put in a location, and the map would superimpose old towns on it. You could then click on the name of the town, and it would bring up info on it.
Counties in northwest missouri. More specifically, a town referred to as 'Swanee'. (not Swanwick...already found that old settlement). This whole town was formed by the families of former slaves, and I've heard there are some great photo-ops (and ghosts) in this area of post-Civil War headstones.
I've searched Clay & Ray county historical centers, and there is no record anywhere of this town (I'm told that's typical for slave settlements in the area).
