About 20 years ago I was a student in tech school and we had an old retired fellow subbing for our regular teacher. He was a auto restoration professional had pictures of cars he had done for sec. of State and other white house types. Anyway he told a couple of us that he had the 1 millioneth car sold by GM and with that car came a pure gold key. His daughter was playing in the yard and lost it. I was wondering if any of you Metal detector heads had any idea if this is worth trying to find.

Sooo... it's high karat gold, possibly has value as a collectors item, and we know it's in his yard? Yeah, I'd say it'd be pretty worthwhile to have a look. :o

If anyone in southwest Minnesota is interested e-mail me and I will give all the info I got and you can have at it. I live out of the area and cannot pursue it.
