Lots of pennies yesterday and a little silver today, and I mean little

At home we still have about 6 inches of snow on the ground so I headed east about ten miles to campus where the snow was mostly gone. Yesterday I spent 3 hours swingin and digging in the muddy ground and found 118 coins with a face value of $4.88. The low value is due to the fact that 88 out of the 118 were pennies. I also found a playboy money clip in bad shape, some keys and what looks like a small hem weight. The hem weight looks modern.

Today it was snowing but I went back hoping to get a few hours in before the ground got covered. At home it was mounting up fast, but on campus it was just above freezing and ground was still warm so even though it snowed the whole time it did not lay.

My first target was the best of the day a tiny silver earring about 1 inch down. The signal was a little iffy, but digging paid off. All together 78 coins with a face value of $5.21. Fewer coins today, but better value and some silver. Not much silver, but silver is silver.

Not anything great, but more gas money, some fun and if the weather man is right, this may be the last hunt for a week or so. We are getting pounded with snow even to the east and the temps will be in the teens or below overnight for the next week and only a little better during the day. I hope spring gets here soon, I am tired of snow.

Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.

Way to get a couple digs in between polar vortexes, snow storms and frozen ground! Got lots of coffee $$ now to keep your fingers warm, and your hem weight might just be older than you might think...Congrats on squeezing some swing time in between our crazy weather...Ddf.
