I spent a couple evenings after work last week in a wooded area near one of our parks. When I first got there I started finding these

My first thought was that I would find some pocket spills, I found about a dozen of these old tins so somebody was busy. Well no pocket spills but I did get these

A '41d and '43 walker, a sterling and 925 ring and the thing that I thought was a locket but it is sealed and jingles like a bell, it's marked sterling. If anyone has any ideas please tell.
This weekend I spent a couple afternoons at a long forgotten fairground spot, it is located in a cornfield near a park that I have hunted before. I discovered this place while looking at old aerial photos of the park and noticed what looked like a race track in the field next to the park. After a little more research I found out that it indeed was a fairground around the turn of last century and proceeded to get permission. The owner was surprised that I even knew about it and said that I was more than welcome to hunt it. I was stoked about it especially after my first find was the key date 1896 O Barber dime. I also found the '99, '00 and '06o Barber dimes the '17 Merc, '53d Rosie '93 and the '96 Injuns and a 1909 wheat.

WoW! Lots of silver ;D
dug a sterling bell of same size & shape, has image of the 'Puss n Boots' on it.
I'd imagine they are cat bells :icon_scratch:

did you see the tins? certainly was no "virgin" spot :laughing7:
:laughing9: :laughing9: :laughing9:

I've been a "SilverSmith" for quite a while, and I have to say; "That 'silver bell' is one of the most beautifully designed pieces I've ever seen". Quite intriguing I might add!!

I would love to see a side and reverse view of it, if it's not too much trouble.

Thank you!!

I found out that it is a baby rattle, it was attached to a white plastic or bakelite ring that I took off and discarded. I will post more photos as soon as I find the plastic ring again!!
