Got back down to Edisto for a few days over the 4th. Managed a few hours in the extreme heat with a couple of good keepers. Thought I had another slave tag but turns out to be trash. Did get some lead, eagle button and a flat button that I'm not sure of the date. It has London Best Quality on the back. The lock is a Sargent and again not sure how old. Thanks for looking and HH!

Nice finds Highstrung. I like those buttons, the padlock, and your "almost slave tag". That one would have kicked my "ticker" into gear !

That brass plate would have had me excited. Good spot when you are seeing blue edge pottery. I see you dug up a confederate hollow point :laughing7: (net weight).

Recently saw in the local news about Camden having some significant history and a move to start listing certain spots with historical markers.

Camden is the oldest inland city in SC. Couple of Rev War Battles took place here. Hard to get good permissions as well!
