Imagine finding someone stash of gems possibly from hundreds of years ago. That happened. Take a look for yourselves. Found this rock which weighs roughly 4 or 5 lbs rock hunting alo kn g a river. I was shocked to find these little shiny pebble type chunks inside. Dont know what they are yet but will keep you posted.!! 20180412_193619.jpg 20180412_193603.jpg 20180412_194010.jpg 20180412_194010.jpg 20180412_193710.jpg 20180412_194837.jpg 20180412_185159.jpg

What better place to hide treasure than encasing it in concrete disguised as a rock

Ok, I have collected rocks and minerals since almost forever. I see a sedimentary congolmerate, with the outside smoothed down probably by rolling in a stream, perhaps even an ancient stream which no longer exists. As it was rolling it collected the little pebbles. Most look like varieties of Si O2. Silicon Dioxide. AKA quartz. Quartz can be made into gems, like amethyst, but they have to be bigger pieces. The photos do not detail what the other minerals are in it.

The original poster has provided me the best entertainment on this website in 14 - 15 years + lurking years.

Thank you for just being you; don't ever let anyone tell you your not unique.

Best of luck with whatever cocks your pistol. You have an awesome rock collection! Can we see some more of your examples? What are the rocks in your photos?

Thanks in advance. Good luck ........ I would say have fun but I suspect you know more about that than I do.
