Hello TNet family. I had a good last two hunts in the short cold days of November. This week has been slow at the shop so I've been leaving early to get some swinging in before the freeze.

My friend got his detector back from Garrett this week. He was trying to find a Wheat spill where we found 50 Wheats and 2 Mercs. However he couldent find it. The spot is ABSOLUTLEY tainted with nails...

He did find a sweet Tootsie Toy Truck and a nice cap gun in the area. I met up with him after work and tried to bottom feed where he got the truck. Asked what it rang up as and he said very high. I came across a nice big high tone maybe 10 feet from his truck and I got this... A first for me. Very glad that luck was on my side! Dollar for scale. Its pretty big and beat up. I like that the nails are still attached.

Not much else that day. Only had an hour before sundown. I did get a 1935 Wheat and a strange looking bottle cap. We all find bottle caps but this one LITERALLY looks like a Baseball Cap...:icon_scratch: If anyone knows what it came from let me know..

Today I got out early agian. Went home to drop off some things. I tested my detector and it wouldn't stop beeping... Took it all the way apart, cleaned and it was fine. There was dried mud behind the buttons..oops. I was runnig out of daylight so I detected my back yard for the first time. Bunch of clad to start then I found a Wheat spill. All Denver mint which is cool. 44, 46 and two 51's..

Maybe a foot away from the Wheats I got a solid dime signal. Sounded so good. Was hoping for a silver dime but this is WAY better. A Sterling Cub Scout Ring! Wasnt expecting that at all. Im guessing its from the 40s or 50s.

This is the 5th silver from my very small yard. I guess we bought a good house. I've only managed 3 silvers from the wild this year and one Rosie from the Coin Star. So that adds to my best silver year of hunting. Just for fun here is everything from my yard. House was built in 1956.. just like the quarter. Funny my 7 year old swung over that one:laughing7: I just dug it..

I hope to get in another month or two before I cant dig anymore. Well see if I can get to 10 silvers this year. I should probably just stay in my yard lol. As always good luck and happy hunting.

Oh here is my friends finds the other day. He is not on TNet yet. Maybe someday. He thought the truck looked like the one I just got but I dont see the resemblance...:laughing7: Next years treasure hunting rig..

Way to go man, I love the ring! I think I’m going to have to add finding a silver Boy Scout ring to my bucket list. I did get a small, sterling Brownie Scout (Girl Scout) ring last year but yours looks heftier for sure!

They were known as "flip-top" bottle caps. They were made so you could easily open a bottle of beer or soda without having a bottle opener handy. The experiment was short-lived because the cap could accidentally come off if it caught on something. As an example, here is a picture of an old Pepsi flip-top bottle cap.

Thanks! Definately a nice surprise. I didn't know either of them existed at all. Its my heaviest silver ring for sure but it barely fit on my pinkey. Child size.

Thanks for the ID Goon. It makes sense they didnt last long when they can open on their own. Ill take a history lesson any day. Glad to have one. Wonder if I'll ever find another..

Nice finds! Of course the silver is great. Love the toy truck and the even more your 60"s Chevy. That was the first pick-up I ever owned (1963). Found another years later in the back of some guys yard overgrown in the bushes. It was a 63, 4X4 painted in utility yellow (old town truck). Restored it and sold it years after. What a fool I was! Hang on to that one!

Thanks Bodkin! This is actually my first pick up too. Its a 64 C20 Long bed. I traded my 91 Miata for it which I only paid $1300 for. The guy wanted $6k for it and I convinced him to do an even trade lol. Hope to get it running this weekend... tank full of bad gas. Its an Alabama truck so its not terrible in the rust department.
