When my son was younger he had the same interest I did at finding old pottery and china peaces, now he has grown up and he has other interests. I guess that is part of growing up and moving on, I will wipe the tears from my eyes and finish this short little story. I used to hunt this old site that was a village until 1860 or so, I was the only one that ever dropped a detector on this site. I was able to find lots of interesting goodies, this one day my son was looking around a short distance from the what I think was the general store or tavern. I did find several coins, several pistol flints, trade beads, ect. My son was about 12 at the time, he came walking over with this surface find, I think he was really lucky to find this coin, I have never found one with my detector. These coins are from 1812 period. HH
