I’ve been revisiting old sites in the woods that I pounded with my last detector. Seeing what will pop out with my new gear.

The ground is covered with this loose grassy growth, but still swingable. There is a 1800’s foundation camouflaged in the background.

Here are the relics that popped out.

Here is the first silver coin I have dug at this site, yeah! Love it when a Merc pops out with dark coloration.

I dug 5 or 6 silver plated ones last year. This is my first Sterling Silver Thimble!!

Hunting in Field 2, sensitivity 21, little bit of chatter, but hitting the high tones well.

Good luck out there!

great find congrats on the bucket lister

Great finds! The coloration is very cool on that Merc. That silver thimble is incredible, they definitely are not common finds at all!!

Congrats on digging that history! The Merc is awesome and the thimble just as nice! All your finds are neat...Ddf.

Thx! Nothing like seeing that “no doubt” silver look appear from the dirt for the first time in maybe 100 years. It is nice and hefty. Thought about trying to bend it back to roundness, but it is not budging, afraid to snap it.

Congrats on some nice saves....that Merc is a real beauty!

That looks like some pretty tough swinging with that undergrowth Thad. But you got good results. Congrats on the silver thimble, maybe you can straighten it. I've dug two or three, one from a colonial site, but all smashed flat.

Nice one! I’m still looking for my silver one too... looks like your new machine unearthed some cool stuff

Thx Steve! This site is pretty secluded and deep in the big park by my office. Normally wide open with a canopy of leaves, but fine grass started taking over when we got into this cooler rainy stretch. This spot would make for a good spot to get the guys together again in the Fall. Thx!

Thx to nhbenz on the id of the small diamond brass relic. 1934 box top giveaway “branding iron” with the logo Tom Mix, who was a cowboy movie star in the silent film era. Great ID nhbenz!ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1534985455.104795.jpgImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1534985465.672193.jpg

Well Done on the silver merc and the thimble. Congrat's on some really nice finds and saves. It looks as if you are doing well with the Nox. Continued Success to you.

Congratulations Pa-dirt!!!! I myself have only found one true silver thimble that I cherish and what a great feeling it is to find one. Yours is beautiful and you’re very lucky to have found one not smashed. Again welcome to the silver thimble club.

Is this too much? lolIMG_0318.JPG
