I know what I would do If my Etrac was out of warranty and I was in your situation! I would remove the control box and Battery
from the Etrac get an extension like this one 5 Pin Heavy Duty Mic Microphone Extension Cord Cable CB Radio EX5HD | eBay
along with a new lighter upper and lower rod and make it all a Hip or chest mount!
Thats just me though! I'm doing to well with the Etrac to give it up now!
