I found this spoon in a vacant lot this evening. At first glance, when it still had dirt caked on it, I thought it was a piece of can slaw. I’ve never seen the plating peel off a spoon before. .

I guess so! It’s always interested me, how the earth can twist and bend objects over a period of years. Not that this was the case with this spoon, but I’ve found rings and such that I know they weren’t squashed when lost.

That is unusual for plating to do that. Maybe a combination of poor plating, heat, and maybe a lawn mower...:laughing7:
