I was looking up some info on gold on San Fransisco beaches, and came across this U.S. Geological report:Occurrence of platinum in a black sand from a beach
deposit in San Mateo County, California
Here is a link to the pdf:
https://pubs.usgs.gov/of/1991/0308/report.pdf
Anyway, while reading the report, I came across this:
the platinum appeared as tiny rounded grains that looked
like silvery beads. No crystal faces w ire present on any platinum
grain. All platinum grains were slightly magnetic,

I have come across this very same type of tiny silvery beads before in Cajon Creek while panning out cons. Very samll, silvery, slightly magnetic.
