With a cross symbol I thought one was supossed to go in the direction of the longest leg, but I read here on this site that you are supossed to measure the longest side of the crossbar and go in that direction ? which is the right way and how far as to what measurement do you travel ?

Hi Ed

With the crosses I have worked with I have always measured the entire length of the cross. The measurement usually fell on 7.5 or 5.5 American standard inches. Follow both the top and bottom of the cross for your next carving or site to dig.
