Hi all Found your post on line about a Medal or watch fob found in a colonial house. My grandfather was awarded one for winning a marathon in providence around 1905. He also came in 5th in the Boston marathon of 1908. I believe this was awarded along with the first place medal. So it was a medal, possible the Gov had some for special citations. It is Oliver Hazzard Perry on the back, passed his statue everyday on the way to school in Newport, right across from his house. Good to know where the Gorham archives went as I've been trying to locate more info on this medal. MT
