Got out this morning to an old demolition site, found plenty of lead-head nails....and a NZ medalett.
It was struck in 1887 in Melbourne AU. as a commemorate for Queen Victoria's Jubilee, for the City of Napier, NZ. and also has on it that the Mayor at the time was G Swan.
It is fairly crusted up and I want to clean it. BUT it's gilt, and so the big question......how to do so without entirely ruining it?
Will get pics up shortly.
This pic is a cleaned up version, hope mine comes out as good!
Cheers
