Medallion - Mans head on front, Owl on the back

I dug up a strange medallion type object today in my front yard in Louisville, KY and I hope someone can help me figure out what this is.

The medallion is approximately 2 inches in diameter. There is the profile of a mans head on one side and a picture of an owl on the other. There is also a hole in the top portion with a metal loop. My home was built in 1925, so I would guess it would not be any older than that.

An image is attached. Sorry for the image quality, I need a better digital camera.

Any help identifying this item would be much appreciated.

Sort of looks like a ancient Greek Tetradrachm from around the 5th Century.
