[FONT=open_sans]A medieval gold ring depicting Saint George slaying the dragon is to be sold at auction after being unearthed by a metal detectorist in a north Somerset field.[/FONT]
[FONT=open_sans]The British Museum has dated the rare find to the 14th or early 15th century, around the time that St George was taking over from St Edmund as England's patron saint.[/FONT]
[FONT=open_sans]Treasure trove has granted its release for sale and it will go under the hammer at the Taunton saleroom of Greenslade Taylor Hunt on June 4.[/FONT]
