Medieval Key

Latest finds, a small medieval key. Had a lot of this type over the years, still pleasing to find. A nice patterned lead loom weight. And the now compulsory hammered silver penny of Edward I, 1272-1307, were the best finds of the session.

love the old keys, the older the better. of course I think of old jails and such but they were very important back then as they are now. I would be thrilled to find one like that but unfortunately, I didn't and you did so you get the cool old key to add to your collection

You are lucky, the oldest key I found is from the 1930's, your key makes mine look like a toasted zinc penny. Very nice hammereds too.

Hello pepperj, it's probably a jeton of some type, probably around 17th century.
