Nice coins. That large cent looks awesome. Very good condition.

I see you are a Quattro user. How long have you been using the machine? I used one for about 6 months. Sold it and got an Explorer II. I do miss the Quattro - I loved the display and simplicity of that machine.

Hey hey, Its funny you guys mention that. The ground there is unlike most I have seen. It doesnt have much weight to it a all, and doesnt seem to have alot of dirt. I have found some great buttons there in wonderful condition. I got my Quattro over the winter, first year with it. I had a minelab sov xs2A pro befor this. L8R

You have very clean soil that is good to coins. Thats a major plus in this hobby!

Nice finds,

The large looks great. I love the old brown look. I get them like that sometimes. But usually the rims are starting to go.

Congratulations on the Large Cent and Mercs!

We have either sandy or hard clay soil here. Sometimes the soil is sort of black if you're lucky.

Nice job!

Re: Merc's and a large cent.

The ground here EATS coins...Perhaps the reason I find so few old ones. I know I am in the right areas and have found them back to 1892. THANKFULLY it was under a covered porch for many moons. Silver does ok here but even 2 year old zinc pennies are more often than not unrecognizable.

That is a great looking large cent!

Usually they come out of the ground with a fair amount of deterioration/corrosion.

Re: Merc's and a large cent.

HOWLOW,

Great finds there. The large cent is super. It still has a lot of detail. You can hardly tell it was in the ground. Keep up the good work.

Mirage, I also went from the Quattro to the EXP II. The EXP II is more challenging and flexable. I feel that it is better than the Quattro, A little more depth and more options letting me set up customs programs for different searches. I feel the EXP II recovers faster than the Quattro. It was hard for me to give up the Quattro as it was prooven, but the
EXP II is the cat,s meow for now with me.

Pretty good shape...? That thing is awesome! The soil in my area is no where near as forgiving! Nice recovery!
