Got home from work today to have my 10 year old show me a Mercury dime that he found in the old farm road in front of our house. He was excited for sure because he knew I had been wanting to find one.

Now the bad news, he found it without a metal detector and I have been swinging 2 years and no silver coins of any kind found by me yet. Not really bad news, I'm just jealous. I am so proud of him.

Great find for the little dude!

It reminds me that two years ago my 70 year old mother eyeballed this coin on the grass near a church while on a tour of Amsterdam. It is from 1573!!!!!. I nearly fell over when she showed me the coin!

My girlfriends mom found a $5 gold piece when she went back to a place her and her friends played when kids, just walking with her husband and saw it laying on the ground. I don't have that kind of luck. Nice eyeball find for your son!
