You guys who like a challenge of going after the extremely deep coins would love this baseball field I'm hunting it right now. So far since I started working this field I've dug numerous Lincolns and wheaties in that 8 to 9 inch depth range. Today I dug the first silver dime that was 9 inches deep. The target was so deep that it was barely audible in my head phones. It was so deep that I could not get a depth reading or a pinpoint. When I swept the coil the hit responded only once every three sweeps. My meter was still a positive coin lock on, and the sound a solid very faint high tone. Digging down 9 inches and out pops a 1920-S Merc! The concentration of hunting a place like this is intense. You really have to work is super slow and listen.

That's some sweet information. Year's ago,, many detectors did not have the capabilities of finding deep coins like that Mercury. Today's machines are exposing deep targets that have been missed over the years. I hope this nine inch depth recovery is the first if many more to come. Congratulations

Hunting deep coins in old ball fields is my number one fun thing to do,because itโ€™s challenging. You canโ€™t be out for a Sunday drive and be digging coins like that on a regular basis,it takes more than that. You have to be TUNED IN completely, one tiny blip and you miss that coin.
Well done Fluke...but the fact you found that dime is anything but. Itโ€™s called SKILLS and a great machine/operator combo. And a desire to go where no man has gone recently...

A silver dime at 9 inches is very impressive in my book. You deserve a lot of credit for that find.

Wow, that's a deep dime. Are you also digging deep trash
Or able to disc the deep bad targets? Whenever I try to go
slow and squeak out signals most of the time it is deep rusty iron. Congrats on the silver!

That's an awesome find, even cooler that you were able to recover it from so deep in the ground.

I'm was using a Fisher CZ6 I purchased in 1994. I know the machine so well I'ts like an extension of my body. I had some machine versus machine target comparisons with some my hunting buddies when they are using the new digital models. On several occasions I got a deep hit on my old Fisher, my hunting friends machines could not even get a signal on some of my deep targets.

I've dug plenty of deep iron that sounds exactly like a deep coin. That's a given every time I go out.

I love recovering coins that are at the maximum depth of my machine. Faint whispers begging to be dug. Way to work that signal mate. Nine inch silver dime is impressive for any machine. Well done.
