Before you get too excited over the Tiffany, it wasn't quite what I expected, haha. Pics of the "Tiffany" item are first. I bet the handle was Sterling, so the best part may be missing.

When Herbie (Steelheadwill) recently heard that the ground was still mostly frozen in my neck of the woods, he offered for me to come down and join him on a hunt. He gets my vote for the Treasurenet Member of the Year Award!

We got out to a few sites on Saturday, and I made it to an old field today by myself.

These places were mostly slow going, but in the end I managed:

- 1861 Nova Scotia One Cent from a cellar hole
- Dateless Merc from the water area (first silver of the year!)
- I believe 1861 IHC from water area - pretty much toast
- what I first thought was a solid silver Catholic Medal from the field today, but she's just plated
- few wheats

It feels nice to be able to get out again. Herbie also got a few good relics. Thanks again Herbie for meeting up with me!

Herbie is a great host, he put me on some great spots last year. Sounds like you had fun and got a few coins too! I can't believe your ground is still frozen, don't think our ground even froze in Michigan this year.

That knife is a terrific find, probably lost at a picnic or the like. There are Tiffany collectors who could tell you a lot more about the style and date range. I suppose it's possible that the handle was sterling but isn't it as least as likely that it was bone or wood or even ivory? Does the intact tang suggest that? If you Google "Tiffany Collectors" you'll come up with some interesting possibilities. If you decide to keep it, it will look great in your display. Nice find.

Good Job IDing that NS Copper!
The bone/wood/horn handle never entered my mind,
wondered how the silver would dissappear, Silver knife handles are VERY well attached.
Poor Indian, he really got beat..
Glad you came down! had a great outing
Thanks To Chris and Mark, you are welcome anytime
