Hello,

I am very new at this hunting thing and am looking for some advice as to what brand or type of metal detector to purchase. I am not looking to spend over two hundred dollar. Thanks for the help!

It pays to take the advice of these guys on the forum. My only advice is to try to afford a machine you can manually ground balance. (Research the term ground balancing a metal detector ) and good luck. It's a great sport.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I care into a little money and purchased the AT Max and am pretty happy with it so far. Thanks again for all of the help.

Welcome from Northern Virginia, Terry makes an excellent recommendation, I just bought a Tesoro Compadre for my granddaughter, she will be visiting in a few weeks, but I started playing with it a bit this morning and frankly I am impressed on it’s effectiveness and simplicity of operation.
