Meteor Find While Metal Detecting?

Hi so me and a friend were metal detecting out in a field when i cam across this rock it was going crazy it rang up from a 88 to a 163 on my metal detector.... He had found a ring so we split ring for him weird rock for me.. i have no idea what it is though it is flat but its made of layers. There are parts of it that look like colored glass and like golden glitter also? Here are the photos can anyone help?

very unlikely a metorite.the action of passing through atmospher does not cause flatness.However....first thing is find out if magnetic...not normally magnetic,but really hard to remove magnet.then we move to next step.

It really doesnt matter....even a fridge magnet...you WILL know that something is differant.elemental iron does not exist on earth...cept for meteorites

It is NOT a meteorite - sorry. That is iron shale.

I'd guess that too. It would help to have a closeup of the cross section.

Iron is the most common metal in the world; and it has lots of forms.
