I went out to an '50s house on Saturday morning. I hit the front yard, got a wheatie and a few pieces of clad. As I worked the back yard, I got a nice hit on the Deus... loud and shallow... aluminum can? NO... a token from Tampa's 100 year celebration in 1955. Less than a foot away, I get a REALLY nice hit. I dig down about 5" and out pops a coin... it's big and looks to be silver... I wipe it off... and have no idea what it is...
It's a 1920 Mexican 50 Centavos coin... 72% silver. It say " Independecia y Libertad" on it's edge. Please note my trade mark... the GIANT Lesche scratch. Few coins remain unscathed when I am at the helm!
Considering that it was found next to a token from Tampa, I can only assume that someone was playing with their coin collection in the back yard, and a couple of them got away.
That is YTD silver #16.
Thanks for looking!
