Continuing to hunt a civil war camp site, I find my second Michigan button. Though its a bit bent, :BangHead:. Some other guys have found some of these Michigan buttons that were in great condition. I've been hoping to dig one up that was in good condition. My first one had great gilt on it but it came out of the ground it two pieces. Oh well. I still have some great rescue's.

12460.jpeg My other friend found this one, its a bit rough. Its a Tennessee state seal button, cool find. Thanks for looking and HH.

Great finds David! You're putting together quite a collection from that site. I'm glad to see the history being saved by someone who appreciates it. Can't wait to see what's next.

That's some sweet old history recovered here. Love the rusty iron lock plate. I love old buckles rusty or not. I've dug some damaged buttons as well and at least you can ID them so they remain cool. That spot looks good to me. I'd keep after it there.

Really good finds there. And the Michigan button? I really zeroed in on that one, only because my Great Grandfather was a member of the 27th Michigan Inf. Regt. wounded at the "Crater" July 30th, 1864, Petersburg VA. Looking at your button thinking that it may be the very type he had worn. Great picture.
