Metal detecting is recognized as a legitimate recreation activity when it is conducted in ways that do not damage the natural and cultural resources in Michigan State Parks nor violate applicable state statues. And my how nice of them to be so generous. In the parks that they let us detect in, the so very graciously let us detect in the parking areas and picnic areas, and such.

Seems to me that since Michigan's so hard-up for cash that they'd issue an annual detecting permit for us to buy. I'd do it but first they will lift ALL detecting restrictions in ALL state parks.......INCLUDING FAYETTE! And also, ALL detecting restrictions lifted from ALL State Forest Land! They do that and I'd have no problem chunking down 25 bucks or so for a permit.

Just my rant for the day,
SgtSki
