Mid 1800's Farm Site V Nickle and 2 Cent Piece

I haven't been as faithful lately of posting my finds. Sometimes I figure plain finds aren't worth taking up space. Today, I found a two first for me. I was pretty excited. This is my second trip to this site and finally found the sweet spot. I paid attention to the trees, landscape and took my time listening for those deep and quick high tones. 1864 two-cent, 1891 V Nickle, 1926 Wheat and some clad. Also found a harmonica reed, reins guide and some clad. Spent a couple hours at another site searching a creek for Indian relics. I have been getting into that lately too. May have found a tool. I thought I had a celt at first!

***I attached some finds from my first time out here a week ago also: trunk lock, sleigh bell and ring were the treasures that day***

Great job! Your old coins are awesome:icon_thumright: Anytime you find a reins guide and a harmonica reed, you know you have some potential.

Thanks Mike! And thanks to all the good folks here, I learned to be careful about cleaning it. I used a soft toothbrush and the tip of a bamboo skewer to detail it. The first copper I found a year ago, a 1920 One cent, nearly ruined it with lemon juice.

Here's some info on your bell. I found one too. It was made by Maj. George W. Tucker of the American Ring Co. between the stamped patent dates and the company's demise in 1882.

Man ya gotta love how some of those 2 centers come out of the ground, I dug one in a cornfield last year that was in great shape, and another at a 1830s house this year that was even better. Funny thing is both were 1864, must have been a popular year for them

I am amazed by the number of beautiful 2 centers we see coming up - it seems like even though they don't come up every day ,
the percentage of higher grade coins is fairly high . Your ring is sweet too ! certainly in a Native American style - turquoise and
split shank with the classic decorative surrounds (the leaf and twist wire )
