Pulled my 1000th silver coin from CRHing yesterday. It happened to be a nice uncirculated 1960d Franklin half from a Loomis box (one of 3 bright Bens in the box). I reached this milestone almost exactly 1 year to the day that I started CRHing again. Ask your fellow Metal Detectors how long it took to get 1000... I bet you most of them are not even close! (and we get to search in the air-conditioned comfort of our own homes).

If your hobby is about the number of finds, then you might want to get a hobby to relax from your hobby.

To each their own I suppose. I can see how MDing is relaxing, but for me CRHing is far more relaxing.

I won't gawk at 1000 silvers if that's what you're after. Good job. I appreciate a little CRHing as much as anyone, but I love looking for artifacts in the Sahara!

crhstreetwalker: with those min/max and a little card counting to balance the odds, a 5th grader could manage to turn the Martignole betting strategy into a sweet payday. But I won't gawk at $10K, either.

CRH and MD are both great. You can find a greater volume of silver CRH generally than you can metal detecting, but metal detecting you are much more likely to find gold, especially if you beach hunt and can find jewelry. Both are fun in their own way, whether it's sitting at home with a beer and a box of dimes, or walking around a park with a beer and your metal detector :icon_thumright:
