Military Marksmanship Medal

Bought about 25 marksmanship medals at a garage sale this weekend. Had belonged to the guys grandfather. They were from the 1960s. Some were NRA, TSRA, and a few other places. The three that stood out the most were these. The US Air Force one was bronze, second was sterling silver, and the third was 10K gold distinguished rifleman medal. I found on a web site that the gold medal was one of 350. So I would think there is more value to medal other than the melt value of the gold. Just haven't found it yet. Any ideas?

I can tell you that the 1st issue USAF Distinguished Rifleman Badge that were actually awarded are named and serial numbered on the back. There were only about 325 awarded but they made more than they awarded. Also, I believe the 10k ones were only made by one company and should be marked LGB 10k, the LGB stands for L G Balfour.

I agree, I couldn't part with them if they were my grandfathers medals. I wish I had his medals actually.

I have bought stuff over the years and surprised that family members are selling stuff owned by their family members that served during the Civil War. Years from now they will regret selling...
