An official medal/ribbon issued by a branch of The United States military will not vary in appearance.

The National Defense Service medal’s ribbon is 1 3/8 inches wide and has eleven stripes. The first stripe is 7/16 inch of Scarlet followed by 1/32 inch of White, 1/32 inch of Old Glory Blue, 1/32 inch of White, 1/32 inch of Scarlet and a middle stripe of 1/4 inch of Golden Yellow. The next stripe is 1/32 inch of Scarlet followed by 1/32 inch of White, 1/32 inch of Old Glory Blue, 1/32 inch of White, and lastly 7/16 inch of Scarlet.

They will vary in appearance based on who made them and I'm sure colors would "bleed" a little when exposed to the elements.

It could possibly be a state militia ribbon.

Why did Viddy say "didn't want to ruin the white and red cloth on it" if it didn't have white?? We need Viddy to come back
I wondered when you referenced the lack of white earlier, is the middle 1/3 of this not showing up as white on your monitor? (dirty white, in the case of Viddy's ribbon)

That is what I am thinking, that the middle portion is white not yellowish as the seems in the picture. When zoomed in you can see traces of white in the grooves.
