I've owned my Elite for 3 days now and it seems to be a nice machine but the question I have is when I go to pinpoint something I flip the switch to all-metal mode and go over my target but I notice that I have to keep swinging it back and forth. I've had other detectors in the past and when you go to pinpoint something there would be a constant sound when you get close to your target and the sound would stay on once I'm over the object, Is this the characteristic of the Minelab Elite or is there something I am doing wrong? ???

You are doing nothing wrong. The Elite has a motion all metal pinpoint mode that must be in motion for it to work. If you have an intermittent sound it might be a deep target. It does not lock on like the other detectors.

good luck,
