I guess on January 1 2008 Minelab will raise it's detector prices to the costs below.

Minelab GPX-4000 - $4,495.97
Minelab SD2100v2 - $1,995.97
Minelab SD2200v2 - $2,495.97
Minelab Explorer SE - $1,298.97
Minelab Sovereign G/T - $798.97
Minelab Eureka Gold - $898.97
Minelab Excalibur II - $1,198.97

The Sandman already stated that the cost of the NEW Excaliabur II would be $1,198- perhaps a January release date for the detector?

Of the above detectors the GPX-4000 will show the greatest increase $500. It will induce a lot of people to buy the GPX-4000 before January. Decrease in the value of the dollar overseas probably was responsible? 10% increase looks like.
My theory on this is that they are coming out with the GPX-4500 next year and want to reduce dealers'inventory. Watch it there will be more moans from folks who just bought their GPX-4000s when the new GPX-4500 comes out and will watch their detector quickly decrease in value.

I guess that the X-Terra series does not get an increase? Thanks for the link, Beale.

Primarily my Fisher cz-70 and Compass Relic & Coin, plus many others
Does that mean that the Explorers on eBay and Craig's List that sell for $350 to $650 with only a few hours on them will also increase in price?

Actually the best bargains for mint detectors is just after Christmas.

Folks selling their x-mas presents that they were not suited for.
