No the X70 is not waterproof in any type of water. ;D

Most of the coils are waterproof. I think the only one that isn't waterproof is the eliptical coil.

Most of the coils are waterproof, but never raise the coil above the control box as water in the shaft will travel down the shaft and fry the guts.

Okay thanks for the tips...

I'll just keep it out of the water....

One more question :P

Is the Xterra 70 fog proof and rain proof?

It's foggy today and I'd really like to take it out for a whirl.... I just got it a couple of days ago and still haven't taken it for a ride.

I have a cover my xterra for rain and fog.

Ive seen folks put a heavy duty sandwich bag over the control box to keep rain from entering.

Ive not tried it myself.

To be clear, of the twelve authorized coils available only four are water resistant. All of the Coiltek 15" coils, and all of the 6" & 9" Minelab coils are waterproof. The Coiltek 6" 3kHz, the Minelab 10.5" DD 7.5kHz & 18.75kHz, and the 5x10" 18.75kHz eliptical are water resistant.
