Hey Y'all! Not really roll hunting but was rolling some quarters the other day. I came across a 1993 quarter with no mint mark. After examining it closely it appears to be a light strike "P" that can only be seen at a certain angle of light. You can not detect it by feel or sight other than having the right light angle.

What have I come across? I will put it up just because it is unusual but I don't even know what you would call it or if it has any extra value since error hunting has become so big these last few years.

Any info would be helpful!
Thanks,
Wade

Without clear, crisp, in-focus pics that show the area in question, the best answer anyone can give would be the most likely answer. That would be a bit of grease, either on the die or planchette, causing the ghost “P”. This is most commonly known as a “greaser”.

This is, by far, the most common issue with nickels through dollars. Some value these. I do not. But I do put them aside for others if they are on my active trading list.

Time for more coffee. And almost time for another post surgery pain med.

Thanks for the reply! At least I know more than I did! I'll set it aside.
