Gentlemen: to clarify, 'I' did not find the new tunnels, my new partners (?) did. I haven't seen them yet, but my friend in Alaska had correctly "dowsed" them ????????

I see that amigo - if sock coffee sounds bad I wonder what he would think of BRICK tea? <not Mormon tea> This reminds me of something I will be sending you a PM in a moment.

Don Jose,

It is still amazing that discoveries such as these are still made
by people just making observations and following up on them.
With all the technology available it still seems that our native
instinct still comes out on top.
Kinda makes you think, don't it? :icon_scratch: :icon_scratch:

I was first subjected to a series of written tests, then physical ones. finally after months of being uncertain, I was notified that I had an appointment to meet the Board for an oral examination.

Don Jose, I can tell you that they still conducted those "oral" exams (uh tortures) when I joined the Air Force Officer Corps in 1979! (I don't know how the Reserves or Guard does their thing.) No Generals on my board, though. No tricks with the doors either. I remember entering into a zen-like state (unintentionally) and proceeded through the "meat-grinder". To this day, I couldn't tell you what one of the questions were, or for that matter what one of my answers were! If I did well, I sure couldn't tell it from the dead-pan looks on their faces. I was escorted to the door with a "good day" and "you'll get a letter from us". "Next"! After a couple of weeks, and no letter, I went over to talk with the Navy recruiter. I was working on my Navy paperwork when the doorbell rang. Mailman wanted me to sign for something. I could see it was from the Air Force. It's always nice to get the "Congratulations! We want you now!" type of letter. I had a regular apartment off campus, and the rental lease was coming up for renewal. Luckily, I had no roommates. I wrote a letter telling the property management company to use my security deposit for my last months rent. Packed all my belongings into a couple of suitcases and a few boxes, and left under cover of darkness! Went to tell my girlfriend (now wife) that I was leaving for boot camp, had to deal with that "scene", explained the situation- showed her the letter, kissed her goodbye, and two days later I was in Texas!

When my wife read this post, she remarked that people might think it was strange that we weren't living together. I said that's because we weren't married yet. Times change, I guess!

Not so much, lots of people still follow that traditional arrangement. Personally, i would make it a requirement for a couple to live together for at least six months or better a year (so as to hit the holidays) before being allowed to get a marriage license. At least that way they could find out if they can stand to live with each other and see the worst as well as the best. Too many marriages fail when the couples find out they really can't stand their partner after they live with them a while.

Sigh, I had to go through a two year old fashioned, full formal, Spanish courtship before I was allowed to even smooch her. 2 years of 'at the best', secretly holding hands.

The smooch was in defiance by me in front of the alter and the scandalized attendants, a process that was subsequently 'demanded by all' brides from then on. snicker.

No, there was no "now you may kiss the bride" thingie. At the end of the full mass and wedding ceremony, she had to go to the alter with flowers etc., and pray. When she stood up 'that' was when I defied protocol, went to the Alter, lifted her veil and smooched her.

So you see, I introduced immorality to Alamos, which is probably no surprise to any one here, being treasure hunters themselves.

DON JOSE,

I THINK, LOOKING BACK, THAT A ONE YEAR COURTSHIP AND THEN AN ORAL EXAM WOULD WORK LIKE A CHARM.

THAT WILL MAKE A FELLA' STRAIGHTEN UP AND FLY RIGHT!!
