'MISCHIEVOUS BOYS AND HAMMERED COIN FOUND WOW !!!!!!!

Hi all,No far from one of my local spots is a rail-line and today i decided to work along the edge of the line.Didn,t take long and i had this small cooper coin that seemed to be a little too large and thin to be a disused aussie copper one cent. The coin is really thin and has this hammered look.Had to stop and think for a minute."Dingo" i remember, when we where young we use to put old coins on the train-track and wait for the train to run over them. Most of the time we spent hours trying to find them as the coins would go flying off the track. This find did remind  me of a lot of things we get upto, when i was 10.Had some great fun and got into a trouble alot too.The good old days. :D :D

tinpan "coin hammered by train"  ;D ;D ;D

Ahhh yes.....a train track coin. A favorite pasttime in United States, too.

Nice find, tincan, and that's a gorgeous picture, too. :) ;)

Doh sorry Tinpan I was hoping it was the different Hammered perhaps somehow dropped in your country. LoL, didn't realize it was the train hammered. Still a pretty cool find.

Lots of train tracks around here mostly because of the many years of coal mining. It might be worth while to check them sites out. Might need to post a post in the everything else section and ask peps about their experiences around train tracks.

Congratulations,

Rev

As children we put iron nails on the track and expected them to become knife- Found none of them after train. :D

Oh yes...train track goodies. I remember them too.

I found one this summer and think it was an lumber camp script token. I'll have to find in and post a picture of it.

I can tell by your picture you'd make a great camera person for my detecting videos ;D.

Best to you my friend!

I also was a coin-on-track kid.

Used to have some coins smashed by the Bicentennial Train that went on a tour of the us (Steam Engine on this baby) in 1976.

But that was 30 years ago, and I have no clue where they went. I will not lose any sleep over it.

Hey great find, I remember doing that, I hope I didn't derail any trains.... I guess maybe something is a matter with my computer, because I can't hardly make out your photo. Everyone else say's it's great but I can't see it too well.
