Hi I am pretty new to this mainly just practicing in the yard but I want to move to beach hunting because a scoop would be alot easier on my back than getting down on the ground for every signal. I was just wondering if anyone has used an Xterra in the sand or shallow fresh water, and how it worked out? I tried it in a sandy horseshoe pit and didn't do very well... It is a 305 that I'm using. Thanks, Tom

Tom: I just got a 705 and did run my 9-inch concentric waterproof coil in a very shallow creek for a bit, but nothing to dig. Just remember if you drop your 305 and the control unit takes a bath, you're out a detector. I have a 6-inch HF DD coil coming and do plan to do a bit of careful prospecting in shallow creek water with it.
