Back out today in same creek spot as yesterday. Found this sandstone machined axe shape in 2ft of water.
No knapping just squared machined edges, 8 inches long .
Not sure and no have ideas what it could be? Looks like modern technology.
Thought it might be nice to share.
Thanks for taking a peak.

I can't tell the edges are worked by a machine. I have seen water worn rocks that look like that fracture in perfectly smooth planes as yours is. You can actually see another fracture crack forming on the one side. To me it looks natural. It's a cool shape though.

Good to see you don't take things too seriously, many come on here and get majorly offended by the member input. You have a good sense of humor. Welcome to the site and keep on rockin'!

Thanks Treasure H. glad you jumed in I was told you were the go to. Shape of sandstone shape looks like it was made on a lathe. Weird. Have a great spot on ancestral Susquehanna so should have better things to comment on.

Thanks, but I am no where near the "go to", there are many here who are far more knowledgeable and educated on authentic artifacts. I just spent a lot of years walking creeks, streams, rivers and fields hunting artifacts.
