......Temps in my area up in the 40’s today.
Decided to check out a small area of
woods that are bordered on two sides
by expensive home developments and
two sides by roads.

Got into these woods this time of year
because normally it is difficult with all
of the underbrush.

First interesting thing was what was left
of this post or pole. Checked out the
immediate area but nothing. Made note of
it, and I’m sure I will be checking it out again.
(note the small pipe next to it, usually used to
mark areas. Perhaps the big one was an original
marker.)

Digging was the same as a few days ago,
except the snow has melted a bit. Able to
pop off the snow in a slab; under the leaves
not frozen.

Pipeline running through the center of the
woods, helped getting around a bit.

Came across these tanks. Again checked
the area out a bit, made note of them.
(Fence all around it, that is down)

Came across what could have been a swing
set, but not sure. Only about 6 ft high.
Did check out the area around it, zip…….

Have not had many good finds of late.
Still enjoying it. The ping on the Garrett
and it also telling me that it is a coin size
object, always right on. 1500 is dead on
with coins, but perhaps only 6-8 inches,
after that it gets iffy.

Clad 36 cents, few odds and ends; not much
but did get some good scouting in today. Have
been hitting this general area over and over at
different location, putting all the info together
and perhaps will put me on something one
of these days. ;D

At home, marking locations on my maps.
Had a good day. ;)

all have a good un............

Shermanville, that was a great photo story. Thanks for the nice pix. You're doing field research...very smart. Don't think the tripod type thing is a swing set, but I'm not there so I don't know. LOL Hey, have a good time out there. Thanks for the fun.

Love the pics. Glad you were able to get out and get some sun at least. The tripod or swingset poles, frame for a chainhoist maybe? The round piece with slits may be a sink or tub drain plate.
I know you'll get the puzzle put together, HH!

Great hunting Sherm, nice to see ya out there and about. I tell ya the wooods are a lot different type of hunting, not nearly as many signals and a lot less finds, but like you said someday you may hit a great spot. Im going with the hoist mount on the swingset,Ive seen guys use similar to pull engines, maybe out of tractors or something. looks like there was definite habitation there at some point keep at it,its supposed to warm up quite a bit up here this week though they are calling for some rain with it...Shoot

Enjoyed reading your post. That's what I do alot, go to a place with no real knowledge of what might've been there, and just start swinging and making mental notes. Yesterday I got out a cupple hours and searched in the woods hitting the areas benieth the trees, soft and no ice/snow. Going into the bushes and searching beneth trees and brush used to be called brush-hogging or bush-hogging. Don't know what we call it today, but sometimes it produces well. Enjoy...
