Took Stef45 with me to the usual spot where I have found amazing things...:) He found an old buckle right away and then it was on!! I got a really thin toasty coin..maybe a farthing?? Carved lead and possibly the butt end cap of a pistol?? The best find of the day is the lion head "thing" that ties to the lion wax seal that I found during the week. Through many hours of research I discovered that the lion fob seal is dated before 1785 and has no date letter.....but it has the leopard head and the lion mark proving it is real silver from London....Gonna send the silver company in England some pics and see if they can ID this thing!!

I would put no connection between the Lion Seal & this Brass Lion. It was a VERY popular image & decoration, that's why tracking a family for this piece is near impossible. I've lost count of how many lion images I've found, started (over here) in the Roman period & still used today.
