Hi guys, my buddy and I went back to the old school house
that I found my first cache of the year at last week. We hit
the site yesterday March 7 th. I think we did pretty well
again. We still have only covered about half of the site.

I found 19 wheaties again, 1 silver mercury, 1 lead toy cop,
A Special Police 711 Badge, 2 Indian Head pennies, a really
neat Indian Motorcycle pin, a Army and Navy token, and other
tokens.

My buddy found 2 silver dimes, 9 wheaties and several tokens,
one of them is a token that says Not one Cent. Millions for Defense.
Another great day at the school house, actually only 2 hrs. Hope to hit
this site again next week when it stops raining. HH, Rinfinder

Very nice! I have a similar lead toy in the shape of an indian that is about 4 inches high and about an inch across. It is one of my favorites.
Good luck with that site, you have already found more relics at that one site then a park i've been hunting for years

Denny,
Excellent finds. Really nice assortment too.

Any idea as to the date of that police badge?

Another question - why did you find IH's and your buddy only wheats? Does your detector get deeper or was it just luck of the draw?

Hi fellow metal detecting buddy's.
To answer some of the questions about this site, it was a school house in the late 1800's,
around 1860, not sure when the school closed but I intend to find out.
Also the guy who lives in the school house told us that the building was used as a
church after the school closed. I'm kinda thinking it might have been a Luthern Church.
I'll find that out also with some research at the museum.

My buddy is using my ACE 250 and I'm using a Whites XLT and on both
machines I have a Sun Ray Probe attached. I'm not promoting probe's,
but if you ever use a Sun Ray Probe on your machine you'll never go
back to the old hand held ones. The Garrett ACE 250 goes just as
deep as my XLT and yes it is just the luck of the draw on what we both
find.

Both of us are just getting used to the ACE 250 and we are both
trying to learn how to pinpoint a little better. When my buddy has trouble
pinpointing a deep coin, I usually help him out with my trusty Whites.

Then when we get a hole dug, we use the Sun Ray Probe. Man does that
thing work. It's like having two detector's on one machine. I could write a story
on this probe, but that's another story. HH guys, Rinfinder
