Hoping somebody can help me type this little guy, please.

Man that is well made. I am guessing jacks reef. Base is kinda like a stillwell but looks a little small for a stillwell. Ok, that is my guess without looking it up  It is a very nice one to be sure.

I've never seen a Big Sandy that thin, B.S. usually have a median ridge, that's not a B.S. base/stem and that just isn't B.S. flaking. If that's an early point, it should have some basal grinding/smoothing. If so, I'd lean toward Palmer.

No basal grinding, quite sharp and uneven actually..could cut my finger if I rubbed to hard.

Big Sandy. Base is wider than the blade. Looks close. If it is Big Sandy its a nice one. Whatever the type is should grade very well. It is kinda weird it seem to want to fall into the kirk catagory. I may dig out some old racks and look for something similiar from 30 miles away. Got me curious as we can not say for sure.

If I had found that here in southern Ohio I would call it a Jacks Reef, but being from Alabama I don't know what type it would be there.

I believe it's a late Woodland point, similar to or potentially even a Raccoon (sp?) side notch. It looks like Horse Creek chert but I'm not certain on that. Great point either way.

I agree that it is probably woodland, I have found a few pieces of fiber tempered and shell tempered pottery in the area as well. Also got the small point I pictured in the 1st post w/in a few feet of this one. but then again you never know, I did find it on the river bank and it could have washed downstream from somewhere else
