So... my several days trip has concluded. Some of you may have seen my latest post of the seated dime spill. That was from one site and in the pictures below you will see a musket tool found on our old British camp. In this picture are a few cellar holes finds. However a bulk of the finds were from our old fort site. Last time we went there we managed something like 40 regimental buttons. We squeaked a few more out including grape shot, a French religious medallion, musketballs, a hand caved lead tag with a soldiers initials most likely. One of the wildest finds for me was a signal I got near a very large root. I couldn’t find the signal and my pin pointer was going crazy at the root itself. My friend came over and split the root in two pieces. The first hit was perfect and showed the musket sling buckle perfectly encased in the root!! The entire root had grown around. I had never seen anything like it before! Another interesting thing was a silver plated brass object I found at the fort. It is slightly engraved and appears to have numbers. Overall a good time!
