I talked to another field owner and he said I could walk. Now I just have to get a day off. They say rain tonight for 12 hours straight. I hope they aren’t just talking smack again.
Check this one out you found and see if it’s a scraper. Looks like a good possibility.
Also what’s at the bottom of the picture?

The bottom item is a spent shotgun slug that I spotted visually in the field.
I’ll dig the pieces out of my flake can and recheck if it’s a scraper. Thanks.
We got rain overnight. I plan to go again today. Good luck on your new permission.👍🏼

Cool eyeball find of the slug, dug lots but never seen one sitting on top.
Best of luck on today's outing.

My chiropractor has a sign in the window "Keep Moving"
Firm believer in just that, if not the back will seize up.
The best medicine just walking around looking, or swinging slowly.
It doesn't come in a plastic bottle so most Doctors aren't interested.

Very true. I just have to watch how I bend over to pick up my finds. The slug stood out because of the white scale on the other side. I’m guessing it got worked to the top when the winter oats were seeded. Here’s a shot of the top side.
