More Silver Dimes & a Standing Liberty Quarter!

I am so glad our northern California parks are infested with gophers! Those little critters keep bringing up the goodies to the surface! Today I spent 6 hours digging up 144 coins out of a baseball field. Included in this haul were 7 wheat pennies, 2 silver dimes, a silver pendant, and a Standing Liberty Quarter! All the silver coins were shallow! None of the silver were over 4 inches deep! It's a big area, I'll be back!

Nie finds. I found a nice milk bottle a few inches from a gopher hole once, a bottle digging friend of mine told me, gophers will push bottles out of the ground when they dig a tunnel.

What a haul! Holy Cow! If I dug that many targets on one hunt I wouldn't walk right for a week. I wish I had a park like that to hunt in my area. Mine are all new (post 1980) so pretty devoid of silver.

I was banging them out one right after another for 6 hours! Boy was I tired at the end. When I add the 50 or so misc. trash items that's alot of digging. I returned the next day and knocked out another 104 coins and 3 more silvers, but I only lasted for about 4 hours. I was whiped and exhausted and a little sun baked!
