Searched a few sites today,
I finally got a decent coin, 36 S Merc, and a blank copper.
Girl Scout Eagle Pin
the oddest of lead toys I've dug, an Old Boot :icon_scratch:
A lead cap with removeable pin, Carter Ink Co, I believe. (with stars!)
of course spoons, 3 at one site.
HH to everybody :hello:

It's about time you got the boot Herbie-LOL. Is it a toy diver's boot? We
are "spooning" over your recoveries. The assortment still amazes me. Nice finds. HH, Quindy.

Thanks Everyone!
Nutria,
The Eagle piece is a 'Girl Scouts of America' Membership pin,
(see 'GS' at top)
It is the "older traditional style" with four stars, 11 wing feathers
and large group of arrows.
dating from about 1934, same era as the Dime found.
There is information about these pins as detailed as for coin types :D
Quindy,
Looked at some vintage divers boots, I could not find any closeups, but they appear to be the same design as this Action figure set. http://cgi.ebay.com/Vintage-Action-...nFigures_ActionFigures_JN&hash=item20b739b13f
The found one appears to be just an 'Old Brown Boot'
has tongue hanging down, folds in leather, drooping sides.
It sports a star on the sole.
JK,
I like the design on the Merc reverse, axe bound up in reeds.
A symbol of peace but preparedness. Burying the hatchet :icon_scratch:
Spoon is Plated Copper, Been Two weeks since I found a 'Real' spoon, it was thin and plain, but early and hallmarked by an unknown (Probably local) silversmith.
I can hardly believe silver has dropped to $35 ::)
I sold a few ounces of broken and trashy flatware last week when it was $52.
Bet it gets to $75 before years end.
I got into some bullion when gold was $1200, & Silver $20.
I haven't been able to find my gold in a long time, I hid it well I guess :laughing7:

Hello mfitzy111,
Coin was maybe an inch or two down on a rocky beach,
Great condition for saltwater silver, most often they come out looking pretty rough, some you would think were copper, (example below).
These finds come from the beach where I dug the Revolutionary War 60 Button, and the 24 NH Civil War Buttons, political and Military medals,
and many early Pewter items.
It was obviously a popular spot since the settling of the area.
Best of Digs, and good luck on your Silver Quest
