Morning hunt, 173 coins, 1 keeper

Hello to all!

I managed a shorter hunt this morning. I slept in a little and then cut it short when the heat kicked in. Three hours hunt time today.

I hit the last elementary school in the district that has the rubber mats under the big play stuctures. It still had a few sets of swings and some twirly bars that had woodchips similar to the other two schools I hit a couple weekends ago during the contest hunts. One good thing was they tore out a set of monkey bars that were in woodchips and scraped the woodchips into a pile. I found a lot of coins and stuff there. In 20 or so minutes I probably got 40 or 50 coins out of there plus my only keeper, a sterling ring. A very tiny childs ring with a fake diamond. It looks pretty vintage and is barely holding together. Other then that, no keepers.

I also went to new district close to this one and discovered they had pea gravel at their schools so I moved on. I never have much luck making good finds in pea gravel. I headed towards home and stopped by a school I covered last summer and picked up some more coins and trinkets, no more keepers.

So the totals were, 3 hours hunt time, 173 coins for a face value of $11.73. The one keepers silver ring, 2 mood rings, a bunch of other trinket jewelry, and 3 Chuck E Cheese tokens and a local casino token.

Thanks for reading and best of luck to you all. Here's a couple of photos of today's finds.

Smiles!

Super clad pal! Neat little ring too. Some days are like that...check my last post. Almost $12 is a very decent amount.

Quite a haul there and congrats on the ring. I don't hunt pea gravel either. It seems people don't loose as much because they can see it. Way to go on all the coins in the piled up wood chips!

Another good day. Congrats. Sorry you only got one ring. ;)
I'm going to hit the park were they held the 4th fireworks. Usually people standing around for 4 to 5 blocks back. Hope to find more than 100 in clad.

BDoo,
Awesome haul. Congrats on the silver. 173 coins in 3 hours beats my one 1920 wheat in 6 hours today. :'( ;D
Three Chuck-E-Cheese tokens in one day is unheard of. ;D
Way to go,
MM
